KRATE to Develop Medical Tourism Pilot Program

KRATE’s first use of its network will be in the medical tourism industry.

Working with Global Healthcare Connections, Inc. (GHC), KRATE will help to create a pilot program to help facilitate the medical tourism process.

The scope of this project will cover all aspects of medical tourism, from secure communication between doctors and patients to the booking of doctor visits to managing access to medical data and more.

The current system of connecting doctors with patients faces the challenge of antiquated technologies, bureaucratic barriers and other problems that put patient data at risk at a time when they least need it.

KRATE will be PIPEDA, HIPAA and GDPR compliant for the unique requirements of a global initiative run by companies such as GHC. It will also help facilitate cross-specialty and cross-border communication in a single application.

Global Healthcare Connections’ mission is to “connect people with high quality, accredited and affordable healthcare services worldwide.” This includes obtaining treatments not available or inconvenient in patients own country. Run by Canada’s first Certified Medical Tourism Specialist Adele Kulyk, GHC has been helping people navigate healthcare since 2010.
